Dear Parishioners
On these Sundays of Easter, our Easter celebration continues as we reflect on the presence of the risen Christ among us. The Easter season invites us to enter more deeply into the meaning of the Paschal Mystery which we celebrate at every Eucharist (Mass.). Each Eucharist is called a “little Easter” as it directs our attention to the Paschal Mystery which we celebrate. Christ’s paschal mystery—his life, passion, death, and resurrection—are at the heart of our faith, continually offering faith and hope in God who is always faithful and responsive to the needs of all.
Support the Catholic Home Missions Appeal today! Right now, over 40% of dioceses in the United States are considered home missions because they are unable to fund essential pastoral work needed in their communities. Your support funds programs – such as religious education, seminary formation, and lay ministry training – to build vibrant faith communities right here in the United States. Please be generous. More information can be found at www.usccb.org/home-missions.
It is hard to believe that the month of April will be over today. Tomorrow is May 1st and with that, many end-of-the-year school activities.
Congratulations to St Peter School Alumni Class of 2014 members Ethan Nelson, Ashley Toups, and Haley Madere on being recognized as St Peter Parish Outstanding Youth. Leading by example and serving others are what these excellent Catholic role models are all about, and last Sunday they were honored at St Louis Cathedral during a special ceremony presided over by Archbishop Aymond.
Our monthly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place this Wednesday, May 3rd, with Exposition beginning at 1:00 P.M. and Benediction ending at 6:00 P.M. All parishioners are invited to spend one (1) hour with our Eucharistic Lord.
First Communion practice will take place on Saturday, May 6th from 9:00 A.M.-10:30 A.M. in church. All First Communion candidates should report to church by 9:00 so we can start on time.
We will celebrate First Communion on Sunday, May 7th at the 11:00 A.M. Mass.
As we begin the month of May, we are reminded that May is one of the two months dedicated to our Blessed Mother. During this month, let us take time each day to pray to our Blessed Mother Mary.
Have a joy-filled Easter week!
