Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Trinity. We honor the Holy Trinity—one God, yet three Persons. God is one, but God is not alone. God is love and in the Trinity we have an ideal example of a relationship of pure and infinite love. Every time we make the Sign of the Cross, we are reminded of the love that bonds the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church says this about the Holy Trinity: “Now this is the Catholic faith. We worship one God in the Trinity and the Trinity in unity, without either confusing the persons or dividing the substance; for the person of the Father is one, the Son’s is another, the Holy Spirit is another; but the Godhead of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is one, their glory equal, their majesty, coeternal [CCC 266]. May the love of the Holy Trinity be a model for us in our relationship with one another.
The second collection this weekend is for the Building Maintenance Fund.
