Dear Parishioners;
Even if some don’t read the Bible or go to church, most are probably familiar with today’s Gospel quote from John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” It is the essential point of the Christian message.
As we continue our Lenten journey, the entrance antiphon for the Fourth Sunday of Lent begins with “Rejoice, Jerusalem.” The Latin word for rejoice is
laetare. Traditionally, this Sunday in Lent is known as
“Laetare Sunday.” This week, the second collection is for
The Catholic Relief Services Collection to respond to
Jesus in disguise. This collection helps six Catholic agencies to provide relief and support to struggling communities and to work toward peace and reconciliation among our marginalized brothers and sisters here around the world. Please prayerfully consider how you can support the collection.
Once again,
The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) will be available here at St. Peter and all Catholic Churches in the Archdiocese of New Orleans on
Wednesday, March 14th from 5:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. Next weekend, the second collection will be for the Church roof. Your generous support is appreciated.
Have a Blessed Week~
