Today the Church ends the liturgical year with the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. We are given the chance of a lifetime—a preview of what we will face at the end of time, straight from the lips of the One who will come in glory on that day. This is Christ the King who rules over God’s creation.
Next week we will begin the new liturgical year with the Season of Advent. It seems that this time of the year gets busier and busier. As we prepare for Christmas with parties, socials, visits to Santa, etc., let us be mindful of why we celebrate Christmas. It is the birth of Jesus, Emmanuel: God-with-us.
Friday, December 8th is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, a Holy Day of Obligation. The vigil Mass will be on Thursday, December 7th at 5:00 P.M. Mass on December 8th will be at 6:30 A.M., 10:00 A.M., and 6:00 P.M.
