Dear Parishioners;
We, in the metropolitan New Orleans area are in full swing of the Mardi Gras season. Parades and carnival balls will reach its peak on Tuesday—Mardi Gras. For the rest of the country, it is a typical work and school week, but for us here, we have time off from school and work. If you go to the parades—please be safe!
The second collection this weekend is for the building and maintenance fund. I ask for your continued generosity. As our buildings continue to age, they are in constant need of care.
Wednesday, February 14 is
Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season. It is a day of fast and abstinence. Mass with the distribution of ashes will be at 6:30 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. A Liturgy of the Word Prayer Service with distribution of ashes will be at 12:10 P.M.
Please consult the bulletin for the Lenten schedule.
Next weekend, February 17 and 18 will be the second collection for
Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New Orleans. All churches in the Archdiocese of New Orleans will take up this collection benefitting Catholic Charities. Your support in this collection provides crucial funds that enable Catholic Charities to be a source of hope and help for over 76,000 individuals and families each year.
Please mark your calendars for the
Parish Mission, February 26, 27, 28, 2018. The theme for this year’s mission is
“We join Our Mother of Sorrows at the Cross of Jesus Christ.” Our mission director is Father Chris Krymski, O.S.M. He was the same priest who came last year to lead us in the Mission. The Mission will begin each evening at 7:00 P.M. Watch the bulletin for details.
Have a Blessed Week and Happy Mardi Gras!
