HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! On this Sixth Sunday of Easter, we celebrate Mother’s Day. A day in which we honor our mother’s. May your day be special and filled with love from your children, grandchildren. For those of us who lost mothers, I pray that they are sharing this day in heaven with our Blessed Mother.
The theme of love is prominent in today’s Second Reading from the First Letter of John and the Gospel of John—very appropriate for Mother’s Day. Jesus tells His disciples to remain in His love just as He remains in the Father’s love. Love is a bond between them that lasts forever.
For many of us, the first lasting bond we formed was with our mothers. We honor our mothers, living and deceased, and all who have acted as mothers in our lives, recognizing that they taught us how to love.
The second collection this weekend will be for the Building-Maintenance Fund.
Have a Blessed Easter Week! Happy Mother’s Day to all our Moms!
