29th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners,

Today, October 16th , Confirmation candidates from St. Peter and St. Hubert Parishes will celebrate the Rite of Election, their formal declaration that they wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Rite of Election takes place at the 11:00 A.M. Mass. Today, Confirmation candidates will also participate in a Day of Retreat. I ask that you keep the Confirmation candidates in your prayers. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered on Monday, November 7th by Archbishop Alfred Hughes. All parishioners are invited to attend.

The Special Second Collection this weekend will be for the new air conditioning unit.

Please mark your calendars for the St. Peter School Fest on Saturday, October 22nd. There will be lots of fun activities, Bands, food, etc. Come out and support the St. Peter School Fest.

Next week, we join Catholics around the world for the celebration of World Mission Sunday. We are called to offer our prayers and financial help for the Church’s missionary work. World Mission Sunday was established by Pope Pius XI in 1926, with the first World Mission Sunday collection in 1927. This collection is always taken on the next to last Sunday in October. This day is celebrated in all local Churches as the feast of catholicity and universal solidarity so Christians the world over will recognize their common responsibility with regard to the evangelization of the world. The second collection next weekend will be for World Mission Sunday.
