This week the U. S. celebrates Patriot Day, also know as 9/11 or September 11. It is the annual observance commemorating those who were killed or injured during the terrorist attack on the United States on September 11, 2001. Let us remember this day in prayer and all those who lost their lives and for their families. Let us pray for peace and healing within our community, state, nation, and world.
The second collection this weekend is to help defray the cost of the religious education programs in the parish.
There will be no school Mass this Wednesday because I have a workshop to attend.
Confessions throughout the Archdiocese of New Orleans will be heard in every Catholic church on Wednesday, September 11 from 5:00 P.M. - 6:30 P.M.
Next week, the second collection is for the Catholic Communications Campaign. This campaign connects people with Christ in the United States and in developing countries around the world through the Internet, television, radio, and print medial. Fully 50% of funds collected remain here in the Archdiocese of New Orleans to fund local communications efforts. Your support helps spread the Gospel message!
Next Sunday, September 15th, the students to be confirmed in November will participate in the Rite of Election/Naming, at the 11:00 A.M. Mass. Candidates, parents/guardians, and sponsors need to be present at the Mass. I ask you to keep the Confirmation candidates in your prayer as they make final preparations to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Please mark your calendars! Family Day is Sunday, September 22 nd . More information on the day’s activities will be forthcoming.
