17th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners,

Welcome to Father Richard O’Nyamwaro, S.J., director of the Mission Office for the Apostles of Jesus Missionaries. They were founded in 1968 by two Comboni Missionaries in Uganda for the purpose of the Evangelization of Africa and other parts of the world. Father Richard will speak at all the Masses this weekend about the needs for his religious community, the Apostles of Jesus.

The second collection this weekend will be for the Apostles of Jesus Missionaries.

If you came to Mass this weekend, you noticed that the church was cooler. The new air conditioning unit in St. Mary’s Chapel (choir side) was installed. It helps out tremendously. The other units do not have to work as hard. Now, we have to pay for the unit. A special second collection for the a/c unit will be the weekend of July 30-31.

By the time you read this Deacon Richard and Diane Abbondante should be settling in their new home in Baton Rouge. They were moving this past Tuesday, July 19th. Deacon Richard has been officially assigned to St. Jean Vianney Parish in Baton Rouge.
