Dear Parishioners,
Today, our parish will take up the 137th annual National Black and Indian Mission Collection. Our support of this collection helps build the Church in African American, Native American, and Alaska Native communities from coast to coast. Schools, parish religious education programs, and diocesan ministries depend on your generosity to help them spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
The second collection this weekend will be for the National Black and Indian Missions.
Next Sunday, July 25th, is World Day of Prayer for Grandparents and the Elderly. In January of this year, Pope Francis, after praying the Angelus, declared that the fourth Sunday in July as World Day for Grandparents. This date was chosen since it would be near the liturgical memorial of Saints Anne and Joachim, the grandparents of Jesus. Their feast day is Monday, July 26th. I pray that all who are in this category have a blessed day!
I will be on vacation Tuesday, July 20th - Friday, July 23rd .
