HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! Today, we celebrate Father’s Day, honoring our fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, and all those who have acted as fathers in our lives.
The annual youth group Father’s Day Bake Sale will take place after all Masses this weekend. Treat Dad to some home-made baked goodies.
As we approach the first day of summer, we hear readings today that are set in nature. Ezekiel has a vision of God cutting a tender shoot from the top of a cedar and planting it on a mountain where it grows into a majestic tree. The Gospel of Mark relates tow of Jesus’ parables involving sowing seeds, one being the tiny mustard seed, which grows into a shady, hearty plant. As we listen to the readings today, may the Lord’s word take root in us.
I will be on retreat from Sunday afternoon, June 17
th through Friday, June 22
nd.
The second collection next weekend, June 23rd & 24th will be for the Church roof. I ask for your continued generosity.
Have a Blessed Summer Week and Happy Father’s Day!
