As we continue our Christmas celebration, today, we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Some may think that the family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph is too remote, too special, too holy to be an effective model for our families. However, like our families, they enjoyed great times of joy but also suffered through terrible hardships. The delight of a newborn baby was accompanied by the fear that led them to flee to a foreign land.
Family life today is a challenge. It take faith, hope, and love to rear a family. It also takes commitment. What does that mean in our society today? The Holy Family is a model of commitment for all of us.
The second collection this weekend is for the Church Roof.
On Wednesday, we begin a new year! We might reflect on “where has the year gone?” Many things have happened in 2019. We pause and give thanks to God for the Blessings He has bestowed on us and we pray to God for His continue Grace and Blessings in the new year.
