Dear Parishioners;
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! I pray that your day will be filled with God’s blessings of love and joy as you are surrounded by your family.
Treat Mom to a dessert today baked by the youth of the parish. The annual Mother’s Day Bake Sale will be this weekend under the portico.
The second collection today is for the completion of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
We are very honored to have the REGINA MATRUM, the mother of the year in our midst. Mrs. Gertrude “Gert” Guidry will be honored on Monday, May 15th at a special Mass celebrated by Archbishop Aymond. The Mass will be celebrated here, at St. Peter’s, at 7:00 P.M. A reception will be held following the Mass at the Msgr. Eyraud K.C. Home. All parishioners are invited to attend the Mass and the reception.
Don’t forget about the Food drive being sponsored by the Msgr. Eyraud Knights of Columbus Council 2436. Hunger doesn’t have a season. Baskets will be delivered to the needy families of our parish. Additional donated items will be sent to the Ministry of Care in LaPlace to help stock the food bank. Please help with this project in helping the needy families of our community.
On Saturday, May 20th at the 5:00 P.M. Vigil Mass, Sister Marlene Berthelot, O.P., will say her farewell to her beloved home parish of St. Peter. She will be at Mass along with her sisters and brother. At the end of the month, Sister Marlene will be moving to the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse in Columbus, Ohio. She will join another Reserve native, Sister Lorraine Torres, O.P., who moved to Columbus in early February.
Have a Blessed Easter Week and Happy Mother’s Day to all our mothers.
Fr. John
