Happy New Year and Happy Epiphany! For some, all the Christmas decorations are packed away for another year. The Church continues to celebrate Christmas with the Feast of the Epiphany. The Christmas season actually concludes with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord on January 12 th .
The Catechism of the Catholic Church says this about the Epiphany: “The great feast of Epiphany celebrates the adoration of Jesus by the wise men (magi) from the East together with His baptism in the Jordan and the wedding feast at Cana in Galilee (CCC # 528).
As Christians who have the grace of redemption through the paschal mystery of Christ, may our lives be a joyful and generous witness to others—that they, too, may come to share in it.
Our monthly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place on Wednesday, January 8 th . Adoration begins at 1:00 P.M. and concludes with Benediction at 6:00 P.M.
The second collection this weekend is for the Building Maintenance Fund.
