8th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners;

Over the past few weeks we have heard Jesus teach his disciples and us how to see the world through God’s eyes. Today in the Gospel, Jesus tells us to remove the wooden beam from our judging eyes. This is a challenge for us. We are quick to point out someone else’s fault, but we fail to see our own faults. Repeatedly in the Gospel, Jesus has taught and shown us the Father’s mercy…to the sinner…to the enemy...to the needy. Jesus calls us to do the same.

The second collection this weekend is for the Building Maintenance Fund. I ask for your continued support.

Wednesday, March 6 th begins the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday—a day of fast and abstinence. Masses with the Distribution of Ashes will be at 6:30 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. A Liturgy of the Word Prayer Service with the Distribution of Ashes will be at 12:10 P.M.

As we begin the season of Lent, what a better way to begin, than with spending time with the Lord in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Our monthly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be on Ash Wednesday, March 6 th . Adoration begins at 1:00 P.M. and concludes with Benediction at 6:00 P.M.

St. Peter School will offer Lenten dinners on Fridays during Lent. Please see the bulletin inserts for further details.

Just a friendly reminder that next weekend, March 9-10, we Spring Forward with Daylight Savings Time. On Saturday, March 9 th , please set your clocks one (1) hour ahead before going to bed.
