6th Sunday of Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners;

Today, we hear Saint Luke’s account of the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Plains. We are more familiar with Saint Matthew’s version of the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount. Saint Luke’s version is more challenging because Luke’s “blesseds” are immediately followed by “woes.” As we listen to the Gospel today, ask yourself this question, “which one of the Beatitude applies to me?”

The second collection at all Masses this weekend throughout the Archdiocese of New Orleans is for Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans. Donations through this second collection enables Catholic Charities to help individuals and families each year. Donations provide life-giving services such as food deliveries for the elderly, care for the physically and developmentally disabled, support and care for new and expecting mothers, and so much more.

The First Eucharist Parent Seminar will be on Monday, February 18 th at 7:00 P.M. in church. The meeting will last approximately one (1) hour.

The second collection next weekend will be for the Churches in Latin America.
