Our God is a merciful God. If the rescue of the Chosen People from captivity did not make that apparent, sending the Son to suffer and die for the sins of humanity proved the unprecedented extent of that mercy. In the Responsorial Psalm we prayed, The Lord is kind and merciful. The Lord abounds in kindness and is slow to anger. May we continue to experience the mercy and kindness of our loving God.
This weekend, March 19th and 20th, all Catholic church parishes throughout the Archdiocese of New Orleans will take up a special second collection to raise funds to offset the costs of educating seminarians at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans and St. Joseph Seminary College in St. Benedict, LA. All funds collected will go directly to supporting the education and formation of the thirty (30) men studying for the priesthood for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. I ask for your generosity in this special second collection.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) will be available for the next three (3) Wednesdays in every Catholic church in the Archdiocese of New Orleans from 5:00 P.M.- 6:30 P.M. May we take this opportunity to seek God’s mercy, reconciliation and love in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
