30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners,

We are reminded in today’s Gospel what Jesus considered to be the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Let us strive to live by these two commandments every day.

Confirmation practice for all high school and adults will be on Monday, October 30th at 6:00 P.M. Sponsors are encouraged to be at the practice too.

Wednesday, November 1st is the Solemnity of ALL SAINTS, a holy day of obligation. The Mass schedules is 5:00 P.M. Vigil Mass. Mass on All Saints Day is at 6:30 A.M., 10:00 A.M., and 6:00 P.M. The Blessing of the Cemetery will take place immediately following the 10:00 A.M. Mass. The Ladies Auxiliary will be having a “sweet sale” in front of the cemetery on All Saints Day as well as in the KC Home. Don’t forget to stop by the KC Home for some delicious chicken and andouille gumbo. Gumbo will be served beginning at 11:00 A.M.

Normally, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on the first (1st) Wednesday of the month. However, since All Saints falls on the first Wednesday of the month, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place on Wednesday, November 8th . Adoration will begin at 1:00 P.M. and conclude with Benediction at 6:00 P.M. I encourage all parishioners to spend some time in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.
