2nd Sunday of Lent

Dear Parishioners,

Today on our journey through this penitential season we are reminded of the promise the Lord makes to us. God asked Abraham to look up to the heavens and witness the uncountable stars in the sky. In the Gospel of Luke, Peter, James, and John were able to see Jesus in glory with Moses and Elijah, dazzling on the mountaintop. As they witness the Transfiguration of Jesus, a cloud came over them and a voice said, “This is my beloved Son—listen to Him.” The season of Lent offers us opportunities to sharpen our listening skills, especially listening to the voice of the Lord.

The St. Peter School Drama Club will present its production of Beauty and the Beast on Friday, March 18th and Saturday, March 19th . All parishioners are invited to attend. Please contact the school office (985-536-4296) or visit the school’s website for further information.

Next weekend all churches in the Archdiocese of New Orleans will take up a special second collection to raise funds to offset the costs of educating seminarians at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans and St. Joseph Seminary College in St. Benedict, LA. All funds collected will go directly to supporting the education and formation of the thirty (30) men studying for the priesthood for the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
