Dear Parishioners;
Welcome
Father Christopher L. Krymski, O.S.M. as he leads our Parish Mission this week, beginning on Monday, February 26
th and ending on Wednesday, February 28
th. The mission begins each evening at
7:00 P.M. in church. The Mission theme this year is
“We Join Our Mother of Sorrows at the Cross of Jesus Christ.” At the end of each evening, there will be a communal blessing as well as individual blessings with the relic of St. Peregine. Please invite your family, friends, acquaintances to the Mission.
Father Chris came last year to St. Peter to conduct our Parish Mission. I know he is looking forward once again to being here as well as enjoying some delicious thin-fried catfish.
The
second collection this weekend, February 24-25 is for the
Church in Central and Eastern Europe. The Archdiocese of New Orleans takes up this collection every three (3) years to support the Church in over twenty-five (25) countries that are still struggling to recover in the aftermath of communist rule. Funds from this collection focuses on training seminarians and lay leaders, supporting social services programs, youth ministry, pastoral and catechetical centers, schools, church construction and renovation, and evangelization through Catholic media.
Please prayerfully consider how you can support this collection. Next weekend, March 3-4, the second collection will be the Building-Maintenance Fund. As our buildings continue to age, up keep in necessary. Your support in this collection helps us to maintain the beauty of all our buildings.
I hope to see you at the PARISH MISSION, beginning on Monday, February 26th. Communal and individual Blessings with the Relic of St. Peregrine each evening. /documents/2018/2/Mission%20flier%202018.pdf
