20th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners,

Isaiah, the prophet, reminds us today that the Lord’s house is truly a “house of prayer for all people.” We are gathered here today in a house of prayer, and so we welcome all people who have come here today to join together to pray to God in praise, in petition, and thanksgiving.

The welcome meeting for the parish High School Confirmation Preparation Program will take place today, August 20th, immediately following the 11:00 A.M. Mass. The meeting will be held in church. All high school students in Public, Private, and Catholic high schools who intend to be confirmed at St. Peter must attend the meeting along with a parent/guardian.

The Elementary Parish School of Religion (CCD) has begun. It’s not too late to register your child for religious instruction/formation classes.

RCIA and ADULT CONFIRMATION classes will begin after Labor Day. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming Catholic, please have them contact the rectory for further information. Any person 18 years of age or older who has not received the Sacrament of Confirmation and would like to be confirmed in the Fall, please give me a call.
